Valberzoso is the last town in Palencia before entering Cantabrian territory through the Valdeolea Valley, with its approximately twenty inhabitants and at an altitude of about 1,100 meters, it unfolds on the slopes of Cerro Sestilón, being crowned in its highest part by the Parish church of Santa María la Real, which was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, which was originally a monastery dedicated to Santa Eufemia and dependent on the Premonstratensian monastery of Aguilar.
